Wow – how quickly a year has gone by! With all the fun we have had and great people we have met over the last year, we think a celebration is in order – and you are invited!  We have a heap of birthday activities planned over the next month and we hope you will pop in to have a birthday drink with us.

  • July 25 – “Birthday Beers with Ben”
  • July 30 –  Birthday Trivia with Trivia Dave
  • Aug 6 – 13 – “It’s duck on the menu” (is that wrong?)
  • Aug 8 – “UNO” Birthday competition (get it?)
  • Aug 12 – “Great Ducky Dip Party”
  • Aug 25 – Trainworks Winter Beer Festival

Ben is selecting some of his favourite beers to celebrate our first birthday with, so pop in on Wednesday July 25 between 6pm and 8pm, have a “Birthday beer with Ben” and see which beers will have him singing happy birthday.

Trivia on Mondays is heaps of fun and lots of laughs.  Get your team together, book your table and get ready for “Duck Birthday” trivia on July 30 @ 7.30pm.  It can all get down to a karaoke off in the bar so bring your singing voice and your sense of humour.

We love ducks of all varieties and it hasn’t been on the menu for a while – so Naomi and Jack thought they’d celebrate our first birthday with “the return of the duck”.  So if you are a fan of duck, book in from August 6 to 13 to sample our tasting plate of duck or our duck cassoulet that will warm you up on those cool nights. Quack, quack.

UNO – we love it! And what better way to celebrate our UNO birthday than with our fourth UNO competition.  With a bottle of Pol Roger and your very own “Duck Inn UNO glass” to be won, it is a night of screaming UNO ( or maybe happy birthday) that could see you become the reigning UNO champion of the Duck – August 8 @ 7.30pm.

The birthday fun keeps coming on August 12.  After you have conquered Heartbreak Hill in the City2Surf, head to The Duck for our “Great Ducky Dip Party”.  Buy a drink to try your luck in hooking one of our rubber ducks to see what you have won.  Prizes include hugs from our bar staff, bowls of french fries, dinners for two, bottles of wine and lots more.

And if you are feeling in the “Fluffy Duck” mood, try one of our Fluffy Duck birthday shooters for $8.

To cap off our birthday celebrations, we are heading to the Trainworks Winter Beer Festival in Thirlmere.  If you are looking for a fun day out, head to the Trainworks and catch up with us there for some Bitterballen or one of Naomi’s hearty soul-warming stews. It will be heaps of fun – tickets available from Trainworks and transport is available to and from Sydney!  A bit of Chippendale in Thirlmere – see you there!
