Festival of the Burger

It seems that the love of the burger is stronger than ever. Our Kitchen team decided it was time to celebrate the humble burger with our very own Festival. So from Monday May 13 until May 18, you can rejoice in the burger by trying our Festival of the Burger tasting plate.

Three mini burgers for you to sample will send your tastebuds wild. Cajun Chicken w/ jalapeño mayo, Good ol’ fashioned cheeseburger w/BBQ relish and to top it off, a Pulled Pork burger w/apple sauce. This mini burger Festival is yours for $15 and if you don’t mind a tasty beer to complement your burger, ask for the matching ponies for an extra $10.

It’s the amazing FESTIVAL of the Burger so come and join in the fun. From May 13 to May 18

Fun time Winter UNO competition

UNOIt doesn’t get much more fun than a pub full of people all vying to be the UNO champion. If you have joined in the fun before, you know what we mean. Grab a group of friends, book yourself in and start practicing UNO. The best fun you can have on a Wednesday night.

When you are crowned UNO champion, you win a bottle of Pol Roger AND your very own glass that will be etched with your name and sit behind the bar for you to use every time you come in! So get your Draw Four happening, reverse all other plans and start screaming UNO! Only on May 22.

Brew-your-own-beer Workshop

We are excited to host a unique event in our garden on June 15 and July 6. Have you ever wanted to brew your own beer? If the answer is yes, then book yourself a ticket lickety-split to our Brewing Day.

ROCKS-SYD-AUS

Hosted by the masters of craft beer, the Rocks Brewing Co. will have their Master Brewer teach you how to brew your own beer while you enjoy a Burger and a couple of beers. Then come back on July 6 to pick up your bottled beer.

Sound like fun? I reckon. Call us to book your place – June 15 from 1.00pm – 5.00pm and then back again on July 6 from 1.00pm to 3.00pm to bottle. Tickets are limited so book now. Only $40 (includes burger and two beers)

It’s PIG MONTH – or as we like to call it, Month of the PIG ( All June long)

It’s the celebration of the humble pig – a month long feast so get some pork on your fork! Each week a different “PIG” dish to tantalise or challenge you.

  • June 3 to 8     – Pork Schnitzel w/Cabbage Salad and Mash
  • June 10 to 15 – Braised Pork Neck and Pea Risotto w/Parmesan and Pea shoots

It’s getting a bit cooler and what better way to cosy up than at The Duck. For one week only, our Rump and Red dinners will fill you up and give your cheeks a warm glow. ANZAC DAY – Head ‘em up!

Keep calm and curry on – Brad’s Super Fun Hot Curry Club

So we let Big Rhys have fun with the Curry Club last month and now it’s Brad’s turn to weave his curry magic – and weave he has!

What better way to start the week than grabbing some friends, booking in for trivia and having a few beers and Brad’s super fun hot curries.

On Monday March 4, he is whipping up a Lamb Rogan Josh (no joshin’) and a Goan Fish curry – served with fragrant basmati rice, vegetable pakora and pappadums. So grab some mates and head down to feast on his yummy curry, whilst playing to win a $100 bar tab in our Trivia comp. Can you stand the heat of our Hot Curry Club? Bet you can. Get a bit of the Irish about you!

What’s not to love about St. Patrick’s Day – March 17 – and quietly we all wish we had a bit of Irish in us! To celebrate this great day in true Irish style, there will be oysters and Irish Stew on the menu. Not to mention the Irish Cider that will flowing! Love a bit of the Irish luck.

If last year was anything to go by, you all loved our Festival of the Sausage! So it is on again! Tasty selection of sausages matched with beers and cider – every day and night from March 18 to 23. Mmmmm……sausages!

Chess and Cheers -

So you’ve done the weekly shopping, you’ve cleaned the house and done all your other Saturday chores. Time to chill out. Come in for our Saturday afternoon Chess and Cheers. Every Saturday afternoon, make yourself at home with a game of Chess, cards or scrabble. And because we know you love your board games, we have jugs of Rocks Lager for only $14 between 4pm and 7pm to help hone those game playing skills. Come hang out with us and play chess and cheers!

In a “stew” about what to cook for dinner?

Don’t be! Because we now have $15 Stew nights every Monday to Wednesday. For one special night only, Danny Russo is taking over the kitchen at The Duck Inn to whip us up an intriguing and inventive five course Italian menu. Teaming with our Head Chef Naomi Lowry, Danny is giving his time for this dinner to raise money for the Westmead Children’s Hospital.

Fair Day Sausage Sizzle

CHARITY DINNER w/Guest Chef Danny Russo

The fabulous Danny Russo is going to be our Guest Chef for an evening of amazing Italian food on February 28 @ 7.00pm. Danny will be cooking to raise money for the Westmead Children’s Hospital.  He has featured twice in the New York Times, as well as receiving rave reviews in Vogue Entertaining, Time Out, The Daily Telegraph and The (Sydney) Magazine for his culinary talent. Gourmet Traveller’s Pat Nourse described Danny’s food as “some of Sydney’s most intriguing Italian food”.

While Danny specialises in modern Italian cuisine, his talent in reworking classic recipes to create a combination of traditional flavours with modern style is amazing. We can’t wait for this night. Bookings will be taken now – only 50 seats available at $80.00 a head with $20 from every ticket sale going to the Westmead Children’s Hospital. And if NYE takes its toll and your head is feeling a little sore, come in and relax with our New Years Day Recovery Brunch. Our normal menu will move aside for the old brunch favs – Eggs Benedict, The Duck Big Brekkie, Fruit Platter w/ Greek Yoghurt, the old faithful egg and bacon roll and of course, eggs any way ( poached, fired or scrambled) – and a Recovery Brunch wouldn’t be the same without a good old fashioned Bloody Mary! Trivia Katy has a loyal following on Monday nights so if you haven’t been to one of our Trivia Nights, book yourself a table for a Monday night before Xmas. A great way to celebrate the festive season with some friends – every Monday until Christmas at 7.30pm.
